Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the Modi government's role in driving India toward becoming a fully developed nation by 2047. Speaking at the annual session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shah highlighted how various welfare initiatives over the past decade have uplifted marginalized sections of society and expanded India’s consumer market.

He noted that while 80 crore people once lacked purchasing power due to economic hardships, the government addressed this by providing free food grains to them. As a result, India now boasts a consumer market of 130 crore people. Shah credited the Modi government's reforms for improving the lives of millions, citing specific achievements such as the construction of 12 crore toilets, provision of free housing to 5 crore families, and the delivery of free electricity connections to 11 crore households. Additionally, 15 crore people now have access to clean drinking water.

Shah also pointed to significant infrastructure advancements, including improved connectivity, the expansion of railway networks, and the establishment of manufacturing units for electric vehicles and semiconductors. These reforms, he stated, have helped India move from being part of the "fragile five economies" to a "bright spot" on the global economic stage.

The Home Minister praised the Modi administration for its clean governance, highlighting that no corruption charges have been levied against the government during its decade in power. He attributed the government's success to its ability to overcome "policy paralysis" and push forward with development-focused policies.

Concluding his speech, Shah underscored the crucial role of the PHD Chamber as a liaison between industry and government, urging them to continue facilitating policy implementation while communicating industry challenges to the government.
