Ather Energy, a leading Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer headquartered in Bengaluru, has officially begun exporting its 450S electric scooters to Sri Lanka. This marks the company's second international expansion after its entry into the Nepalese market last year. The first batch of 450S scooters has been dispatched and is expected to be delivered by the end of the festive season.

Tarun Mehta, Founder and CEO of Ather Energy, announced the milestone on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), sharing images of the scooters being prepared for shipment. In his post, Mehta stated, "Ather’s second international market is set to go live by this festive season. First shipment of 450s have left for Sri Lanka from our warehouse in India."

The 450S electric scooter, priced at ₹1.55 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, will feature the same specifications for the Sri Lankan market. However, Ather has yet to announce its official pricing in Sri Lanka. In addition to the 450S, Ather's Indian product lineup includes the 450X, 450 Apex, and Rizta models.

Ather Energy’s operations in Sri Lanka will be handled in partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Sensei Capital Partners, Atman Group, and Sino Lanka Private Limited. Evolution Auto will manage sales, distribution, and after-sales services for Ather’s electric scooters in the island nation. The company is also planning to develop an EV fast-charging network in Sri Lanka to support its customers.

This international expansion follows Ather Energy's successful launch in Nepal, where the company introduced the 450X electric scooter. In Nepal, the 450X, priced at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), offers up to 150 kilometers of range on a single charge. Ather has since established three experience centers and seven fast-charging stations in Nepal, enhancing its presence in the region.
