Audi is raising the bar in the upper mid-size segment with the introduction of the Audi A6 e-tron, which is setting new standards in design and range. As the second model on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, the A6 e-tron emphasizes performance, efficiency, and advanced charging capabilities. Notably, it is the first model on this platform to feature a flat floor concept.

Starting September 2024, customers can order the A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron in both Sportback and Avant versions. The A6 Sportback e-tron performance starts at €75,600, while the Audi S6 Sportback e-tron is priced at €99,500.

Superior Range and Efficiency

The A6 e-tron series boasts efficient electric motors paired with a newly developed 100 kWh lithium-ion battery (94.9 kWh net), composed of twelve modules and 180 prismatic cells. This setup delivers impressive ranges of up to 756 kilometers for the A6 Sportback e-tron and up to 720 kilometers for the A6 Avant e-tron.

With a system output of up to 270 kW, the A6 Sportback/Avant e-tron offers power consumption rates of 17.0-14.0 kWh/100 km (62.1 mi) combined. The A6 e-tron performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 210 km/h. The S6 e-tron, equipped with quattro all-wheel drive, provides a system output of 370 kW (405 kW with launch control).

Advanced Charging Capabilities

Thanks to its 800-volt technology and a standard maximum DC charging capacity of 270 kW, the Audi A6 e-tron ensures brief charging stops. At an appropriate High Power Charging (HPC) station, the A6 Sportback e-tron performance can recharge for a range of up to 310 kilometers in just ten minutes. The State of Charge (SoC) can increase from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes. The vehicle also features intelligent high-performance and predictive thermal management, along with Plug & Charge functionality for seamless charging.

For stations with 400-volt technology, the A6 e-tron can utilize bank charging by splitting the 800-volt battery into two 400-volt banks, charging in parallel with up to 135 kW. Additionally, standard home chargers offer AC charging with up to 11 kW, with a 22 kW AC charging option to be offered later.

Enhanced Brake and Recuperation Systems

Audi has significantly enhanced the integrated Brake System (iBS) for the A6 e-tron models, enabling axle-specific brake blending between the mechanical friction brake and regenerative braking via the electric motors. The vehicle offers two-stage recuperation, adjustable via steering wheel paddles, and a coasting feature where the vehicle rolls without additional drag when the accelerator pedal is released. The “B” driving mode provides a strong recuperation deceleration, allowing for nearly all deceleration to be managed without the brake pedal.

Comprehensive Safety and Assistance Features

At market launch, the Audi A6 e-tron will come equipped with an array of standard safety and assistance features, including park assist plus, a reversing camera, traffic sign-based speed limiter, camera-based traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and distraction and drowsiness warning.

With its combination of innovative design, exceptional range, and cutting-edge technology, the Audi A6 e-tron is poised to redefine the upper mid-size electric vehicle segment.
