On September 9, coinciding with World EV Day, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), the electric vehicle division of Mahindra & Mahindra, introduced its new commercial electric four-wheeler, the ‘e-ZEO.’ The name, short for "Zero Emission Option," underscores the vehicle's commitment to sustainability and clean transportation.

Designed to compete with Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles in the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) market, the ‘e-ZEO’ features advanced high-voltage architecture that boosts energy efficiency, extends driving range, and reduces charging times. Mahindra aims to offer an affordable and environmentally friendly solution for businesses, particularly in urban logistics.

Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, said, "As pioneers in the electric three-wheeler segment, we are excited to unveil the brand name of our new four-wheeler, ‘e-ZEO,’ on this important day. The name reflects our mission to support global EV adoption, especially in the sub-two-tonne category. With the trusted Mahindra name behind it, the ‘e-ZEO’ is set to transform urban logistics and contribute to the prosperity of our customers."

The official launch of the ‘e-ZEO’ is scheduled for October 3, 2024.

Earlier this year, Mahindra & Mahindra announced plans to invest Rs 12,000 crore in its electric vehicle unit, Mahindra Electric Automobile, by March 2027. On August 15, Executive Director and CEO of the auto and farm sector, Rajesh Jejurikar, reiterated the company's commitment to electric mobility, urging a national focus on EVs as a key priority for India.
