Daimler Truck's brand, Rizon, is expanding its electric truck lineup with the introduction of two new models. The Class 4 e18Mx and Class 5 e18Lx were unveiled at the 2024 Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas. These models, set to be available for the 2025 model year, promise enhanced payload capacities and improved specifications over their predecessors.

The e18Mx and e18Lx boast an impressive payload capacity of 18,850 pounds (approximately 8.5 tonnes), surpassing the 17,995 pounds (about 8.2 tonnes) of current models. While detailed technical specifications of the powertrain have not been disclosed, Rizon confirmed that the trucks will offer a range of up to 160 miles (257 kilometers) and support both Level 2 AC and DC fast charging. The new models are versatile, with configurations including box trucks and stake beds, making them ideal for urban logistics and last-mile deliveries. They also feature a tight turning radius, perfect for navigating city streets.

In addition to launching new models, Rizon has enhanced its warranty package. The updated warranty now covers the powertrain and high-voltage electrical components for 8 years or 120,000 miles, and the high-voltage batteries for 8 years or 185,000 miles. This upgrade reflects Rizon's commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction.

Rizon, which debuted in the US market in April 2023, currently offers four electric truck variants: the e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M, each providing a range between 110 to 160 miles (177 to 257 km). Recently, Rizon expanded its reach by entering the Canadian market, marking significant milestones with customer deliveries.

"Since our launch, we've seen substantial progress, including entering the Canadian market and delivering vehicles to our customers," said Andreas Deuschle, Global Head of Rizon Truck. "With the introduction of our 2025 models, we're increasing the gross vehicle weight and enhancing our warranty to offer the best solutions for our customers' businesses."

These new offerings highlight Rizon's ongoing dedication to advancing electric vehicle technology and providing robust, reliable solutions for commercial transportation needs.
