Tata Power announced on Monday that it has successfully installed 50,000 home chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) across India since April 2023. Additionally, the company has established over 500 charging points for electric buses in major metropolitan areas, further enhancing the nation’s EV charging infrastructure.
Since 2018, Tata Power has set up a total of 100,000 EV chargers at various locations throughout the country. These include over 1,100 chargers for electric buses within the past five years. The widespread network reaches even remote regions, providing customers with a seamless and reliable charging experience in the comfort of their homes.
Tata Power’s efforts to expand EV charging infrastructure across public, semi-public, and residential spaces demonstrate its commitment to environmental sustainability, helping to drive India's transition toward cleaner transportation.
The company also highlighted its growing network of over 5,600 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) enabled charging points, totaling more than 5,570 public and captive chargers. These strategically placed stations—found in malls, hotels, hospitals, offices, residential societies, and along highways—are centrally managed through an advanced Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Mumbai, ensuring efficient operation and monitoring.
